Professional sound and response at an affordable price.
Hanson SE model clarinets sound great and look stunning.
Our traditional seasoning process plays a significant role for the wood of an instrument and you will notice immediately this difference in a Hanson clarinet; the natural colours and distinct graining individual to each finished piece exude quality even before a note is played.
The keywork is mirror polished and finished with pure silver and the innovative design of keywork linkages help ensure that proper adjustment is maintained, making difficult passages and moving over ‘the break‘ less arduous.
Final play testing and inspection is done by Alastair Hanson; instruments that bears his family name also carry forward his reputation and no instrument leaves the building until it is deemed a worthy ambassador.
Our investment in technology, fine materials and old fashioned craftsmanship combine to create an instrument you will be proud to own and play.
Hanson SE model clarinets compare easily to much more expensive wooden instruments from other makers. Much of this price difference is because we only sell our instruments directly so there is no ‘wholesaler markup’. So please don’t be put off by the low prices – a Hanson SE is not a mass produced ‘cheap’ wooden clarinet and it will serve you well for years to come.
The worlds first FSC certified clarinets were made by Hanson. We choose only sustainably sourced African blackwood (Grenadilla).
We have always chosen our wood with care and season (age) naturally – no kiln drying or artificial methods are used to speed up the manufacture process – and we are proud that the wood we buy is sustainably sourced . In 2008 Hanson Clarinet Company was presented with an special award by the Forestry stewardship council in recognition of our ‘outstanding contribution’ to conservation and sustainable manufacturing. We made the worlds first FSC certified clarinet in 2010 – featured by BBC news and later presented to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.
Made with pride and dedication to our players in Marsden, West Yorkshire.
