About
The Rossignol String Quartet was formed after meeting at a local music festival in 2018, and we have been playing and performing together ever since!
In 2023 we started learning some arrangements by the Danish String Quartet, which inspired us to start arranging some tunes of our own in a similar style. Since then we have been developing our own sound, also taking influences from Turtle Island String Quartet and other artists such as Chris Thile, Seonaid Aitkin, Chris Stout and more.
We also love improvising and composing our own original pieces, crossing over both folk and jazz genres, which you can check out on our instagram and youtube channel.
In 2024 we took part in the Music for Youth regional festival, after which we were invited to perform at Birmingham Symphony Hall
